Today, we continue our study of Hebrews.

A couple weeks ago we kicked off our series in Hebrews - and we are fired up about this because Hebrews is really foundational to the Christian faith. So LEAN IN as we go through this book. It starts out with the understanding that JESUS is SUPERIOR to everything and everyone else. In order to understand what is being said in chapter 3, and why it talks about Moses, we need to understand that Moses was a very important figure to the Israelites.

This Sunday, we continue our GREATER THAN series through the book of Hebrews. In Chapter 2, we’re faced with an uncomfortable truth: spiritual drift rarely happens through a sudden rebellion… It happens quietly, gradually, when we let our comfort get in the way of our conviction. We will look at how to recognize the symptoms, why Jesus took on flesh and blood to rescue us, and how to stay anchored in a world full of distractions.

The book of Hebrews is foundational for us as Christ followers. This book looks at the superiority of Jesus Christ. And today as we kick off this 3 month series we are looking at who angels are, who we are, and how we are to pray. 

Worship is actually how we live, what we do in our everyday moments. But for the purpose of this teaching, we’re focusing on the musical aspect of worship today.

So this week we are in the book of Philemon. It’s just one chapter. It’s another letter written by Paul to Philemon. And it’s the shortest letter that Paul wrote. But would have actually been the most controversial, or explosive letter of that time.

As we heard from Tilly last week, and from Cristian the week before, the book of Titus is basically telling us that Christians are to live by a totally different value system than the world. It is a letter from Paul to Titus, instructing him on what he needed to do in leading the church in Crete. Crete was a rough place. The people of Crete were less than desirable. With that said, let’s read

Are we going to look like the world, or like Christ? Are we willing to let God change us, mold us and shape us to look more like Him and less like the world? Join us this morning as we dig into Titus chapter 2 and the instructions Paul gives for what living should look like as we follow Christ.

“A Solid Foundation” - A church can look healthy on the outside and still miss the intention of what God desires. In Titus 1, Paul challenges us all to examine what truly defines His Church: a foundation built on Christ, a commitment to seeking truth through the Word, and lives transformed by the gospel.
